Choke problem
I just bought a replacement choke for my edelbrock 600 carb and insted of removing the choke it close the choke to a point of stalling the engine. I checked and with the power on the spring in the choke is turning the other way it should. What's the problem? Anyone have seen this before?

I've never seen this before, but the only way that I can think of that this would happen is if the spring were installed backwards. I don't have any experience with Edelbrock carbs, but take a look inside the choke and see if the spring can be easily removed, flipped over, and re-installed. If that's do-able, it should make the spring expand in the other direction. Let us know, either way, OK?

It's happened a number of times to people.
