Hmm...
So apparently it's been a really long time since I looked at this...
The paperclip idea appears to be the current solution, and I did run the wipers for a few minutes and verified that the jumper stayed cool.
I'm not gonna swear to the colors, because they've faded in the last thirty years. One looks like pink/black, and the other may be purple?? Dunno. Either way, they're both on one side of the connector which makes them easy to jumper.
I'll shut up now, and do the thousand words thing. Good luck!
