Radio Delete with a twist
Finished this up the other day... There will be a dock connector to play and charge my phone. Now I have all the music I could want, plus navigation and post on CF from my dash
The empty hole is for the volume ****, and the port on the right is an aux in for any other audio players. Signal goes to a small 100W 2 channel amp and a pair of infinity component speakers.
I deleted the factory ball vents and replaced them with these tweeters. The woofers are in the kick panels

Pretty cool man. I'm a stock type guy, but find the mix of old and new great on other people's cars.
Whenever I'm driving to a cafe for a coffee in the summer and my macbook is sitting on the passenger seat it makes me smile...such a juxtaposition.

Nice job and Ditto here, getting ready to wade into mine in a month or so once I get the mechanical stuff done. I'm torn between stuffing an iPad into the gauge area and running a OBD II converter/app (LS-1 motor) or a hybrid like yours.

Thanks fellas
I did realize that Ill be stuck with this phone for a while but my daily driver has the old 30 pin apple plug with a very nice aftermarket radio that I dont really want to change out just to work with an iphone 5 (no music data transfer for aftermarket stuff). Ill probably keep this phone for a while, although it wouldnt be terribly hard to just make a new dock if I upgraded. As long as the hardware is there to support it.
And heres a pic of the back of my gauge cluster. The gauges just pop right in the factory holes and are held in with the supplied brackets. No mods to get them into the bezel.

What brand and size are those gauges? How much better are the lights at night than the stock gauges. Can we see pics of the center console and the speedo?tach, even if they are still stock, to see how they look. Very interested in your setup. Please help me spend my money.

I guess you could pick up an iPod of similar dimensions if you decide to upgrade the phone to the 5 or another mfg that doesn't use the same plug and just have it for entertainment vs GPS and phone functions.

Nice! How do you actually connect the iPhone to the amp?
