Mildon BBC Stud set Torque?
I just bought a Mildon windage tray #32260 and stud kit for mounting the windage tray #8115. On the stud package it says to torque the nut to 85 ft/lbs the 4 bolt main specs for a BB I think are 110 ft/lbs what should I do? Are studs torqued different then bolts? I would hate to torque the stud nut to 110# and stretch the stud or threads and have a failure.

Haven't used Milodon main studs in a while, but ARP's procedure is to install the studs finger tight, with a small amount of thread locker for permanent mounting, then to torque the nuts (incrementally in three steps) before the locker sets, to 110#. That said, I'd double check with Milodon before going beyond their specified value. Magic potion on the nuts is a good call.

Do what the manufacture says!! If these are real studs and not a bolt the studs have fine threads with nuts at the cap, these have more mechanical advantage than the stock bolts with coarse threads. You also only torque the studs about 10 lbs into the block if I remember correctly.
