I think the idea has merit. For non-pulse 68-76 cars, where would you put the pulse control?

I would be interested depending on design and cost, but I never drive in rain.

This would be cool. Right now I try not to drive mine in the rain or if there is the threat...so far I have only been caught once in 3 years.

I would also like a delayed interior light setup like the later C3s have. I have a '76 L-48

Ernie, I went through the whole process, using your videos as a guide, and what I found out was that there was nothing wrong with either my wiring or my wiper motor. Finally, in desperation, I disconnected the wiper switch housing from the center bezel and tried it and voila! it mysteriously started working. I think there was just enough time- and wear-induced looseness in the switch that when it was all buttoned up the new dash pad was pressing down on it enough to hold it open no matter what position the switch was in...AND after all the smoke had cleared I finally realized that the new dash pad was the only thing that had changed since the wipers had last worked OK.

Those of you that know of me on these pages also know that I'm neck-deep in an endless paint project and right now troubleshooting the wipers is just around the corner as I'm just getting into the reassembly process...I just put the headlight and wiper doors back together a couple weeks ago and found that a) the wipers won't come on at all and b) the headlights go up slowly and won't go down.

And a Corvette from Temecula 34 years ago?? Must've been one hot, lonely place back then!

BTW, if I do get all these little issues sorted out I just might be interested in your proposed device!

To be honest, no, I would not be interested. I can count on one hand the number of times that I have driven my Corvettes in the rain in the last 10 years and not by intention. The stock set-up worked fine when needed.

Mike.. I can mount all the parts on a board.. use a ic chip to control it.. and possibly make the pot the mounting. So in theory... Make a bracket that will mount off one of the screws that holds the bracket for the over-ride switch and use the pot as the support for the board. When mounted you'd just adjust the pot at the lower part of the dash board.

You know.. these things take time to sort out so this is my first thought we have another meeting on the cooker for Friday so let me see what I can devise and then I'll post more.

Paul... and 7t... I understand.. I'm the same way with my cars.

Mr. Vette.. I searched today and found some info you posted. I think I can make a better mouse trap... guess we'll find out with the proto.. and then move from there.

The feedback and emails I've received are all good and I have to say a this point I'm about to pull the trigger. I just need to get the proto built and the support bracket and do some testing on my own car.

Keep the input coming.. Interesting....

Ernie, mine is nothing but a 555 timer chip, only thing I could find was a ~10k pot that was small enough to mount where the switch was, and I just laid the mini board and int relay on top, behind the pot, little red button for water on the left, small toggle switch on right that goes high speed.....I left it in the stock position for my '72, made life easier....GOD I"m lazy.....

Okay.. I'm convinced that this product may have merit. I have another meeting tomorrow and we already have a proto built. Hopefully we can do some testing of this to see which way it works out. It will take some time from beginning to end but I'll keep you posted.

I agree. You'd have to hide it for those of us who want to keep the stock look.

I try not to drive in the rain either but it would be nice to have. To be honest, I would buy one from you because of all the support and help you provide daily to corvette addicts. You won't get rich on my one purchase but it will add to the amount of units you sell. Good luck with your venture.

I wonder if it will work in other cars or pickups. My 56 pickup has a two speed wiper only and I would like the low speed to be adjustable or just intermittent.

I'll base my decision from the feedback in this post. So.. anyone interested?

A great idea Ernie, BUT

How come I knew that the 68 wouldn't be included.

Here's hoping that was just a typing error. (but I think not as the wiring motors are different)
