ZZ4 in your C3?
Just begining to dip my toe into the new engine water... I don't plan on buying a new one until mine goes out, but I'd like to have my ducks in a row when that does happen! Does anyone Have a ZZ4 in their C3? If so how do you like it? Any other suggestions for a reliable crate motor with some good horse power?
Here are a couple of links I found
ZZ4 - http://www.jegs.com/i/GM%20Performance/809/24502609/10002/-1?sendroicid=bbef8492-2d00-41d6-b158-38db0de2603c&catargetid=1716046196&sendr oikwd={keyword}&gclid=CKTH2aGmsbQCFeGDQg odYn0A5w
GM 350 crate - http://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet+Perf...353K2/10002/-1
I should mention I am new to older cars and am trying to build a little bit of a knowledge base.

Wow, thats quite a combo. How long have you had them in? Did you have them installed or do it yourself? Im trying to get a feel for what all will need to be replaced along with the engine. I'd like to start setting aside a little cash so I can have it all done at once, when the time comes.

I have a ZZ4 w/ a TH400. I would like a tranny with an overdrive but that isn't in the cards right now. I put the engine in last winter and loved driving it this past year.
I replaced it myself. It is pretty easy and straight forward with the help of a book or two. Plus this forum.
Here is a good link for a guy that put one in his 1977.

I have ZZ3's (ZZ4's previous gen ancestor) in 2 cars (Gen1 Monte Carlos) and love them both. Great motors, nice power. If I were going for a new SBC in my Corvette, I would definetly get a ZZ4.

Had a ZZ4 for 3 or 4 years now. Fun torque. Have ACCEL DFI Gen VII on top. Runs 13.2 woth street tires, and all the belts and accessories. Would do it again.
