trw mono spring
I know there is several threads on here concerning the TRW mono spring. I put mine on when I was doing the frame off restoration without doing enough research, anyway i've since put the body on and am almost complete with the assembly. My question is will this thing settle very much? I contacted corvette central where I purchased the thing and they said they get this question a lot and the spring will settle after about 100 or so miles. Well i'm about 4" too high and I doubt it will settle that much. Has anyone had any luck with them settling down? I bought the lowest weight rating in hopes of getting the best ride.

Are you using the 8" spring bolts?

Are the nuts close to the bottom of the thread on the bolt?

I ended up with 10" (C-4) bolts on my TRW spring. Very close to rubbing on my 255/60R15 tires. For my rebuild this past year, I wanted a stiffer spring so I got a custom one from VB&P. 400# rate, shortened 1/2" per a side. Works great and no extra cost or time.

The nuts are backed off as far as possible. I just put new wheels tires on 225/45/18 and now it looks even higher. My ride height is 10.5 inches measured from the rocker in front of the rear wheel

It should settle down some more. If you selected the 360# spring, it will ride high (about 2" over stock position). With 8" bolts, you have done all you can do with that spring, I think.

The TRW mono spring will settle with regular driving over time. Here are the published ride height specs for C2 & C3 Corvettes: http://tech.corvettecentral.com/2011...-height-guide/
