Street Demon carburetor review
I've had a chance to put around 20 miles on with the new carb and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I bought the one with the polymer bowl and replaced the 750 Edelbrock that I had been running for about 2 years. This is on a '72 coupe with a performance built 2004r, 3.08 gears and ZZ4 350. The car seems to have a lot more power off the line and in the mid range and revs quicker than it did with the Edelbrock which I realize was a bad choice. The features I like are the linkage provisions for 700 and 2004r trans cables, thumb screw idle adjustment and it's pretty much ready to run right out of the box. The electric choke works good and didn't need any adjustment. The secondary air valve was set too loose from the factory for my application and so far I've given it 1/2 turn more spring tension. The reason I did that was there is occasionally a hessitation when I floor it from a rolling start. Part of that might be because of the 40 degree temperature and low humidity. It might behave differently in warm weather. Summit sells them for $379.99 and I believe Jegs has them for the same price. Jegs is running a promotion where you get a free Demon air cleaner and Summit gives a free Demon t shirt with theirs.

So Demon is back is business ? I love my 825 Drag Race Demon, better performance than the Holley I had it before.

I've heard they are back. I hope so. I feel the same about the 850 Mighty Demon I'm running. I'm probably going to need more carb with the new engine and I'd like to have another Demon.

i lived through those days the best way, by throwing that garbage in a land fill. the thermo dog was even worse than people thought the q jet was. the bowls would warp and that was the start. i see people with olds and buicks and pontiacs using a quadra jet but very rarely see a mopar guy run a thermo quad.both those carbs are gadgets. i tried to be open minded on both but i won't have another of either again
