Rear brake kit spindle removal
I bought an aerospace bolt on brake kit for the rear and far as I can tell it requires removal of the spindle to replace the caliper bracket. Far as I can tell, removing the spindle is iffy! Either bearings are ruined or I need special tools. Also if I gotta take pita stuff apart, I'd prefer new or better parts, so I don't have to do it again anytime soon. Since the guy on the phone assured me a couple times this kit was "bolt on" I got the rotor hat with 7/16" studs, but if I gotta put new or better spindles on I'll prob get 1/2". I emailed them and the reply was short and said the spindles come out easy and didn't even answer my other questions. So either what I'm reading is wrong or they are blowing me off.
So can the spindle be removed and replaced easy, to just change the caliper bracket?

Caliper bracket removal
The rear spindle does not need to be removed to remove the caliper bracket. The 2 bolts that hold the bracket can be removed with a 5/8" socket from behind the rotor. Hope this helps. If you do decide to remove the spindle, yes you will need special tools and you might as well replace the bearings and seals while you are at it. Hope this helps.

this is incorrect, the rear caliper brackets are held on by the FOUR t-arm studs and YES the spindle has to come out to R&R the bracket...

Thx for the advise guys. I'm kinda anoyed about the lug size and really anoyed I gotta spend a lot more $ too be able to use the kit, but I'm gonna give them one more chance before I return it to see what they are gonna do about the lug size. Whether they drill mine bigger or exchange or make me buy new ones. Sucks because I like their kit on my stang and planned on buying more, but they are turning me off with this not bolt on and the crappy reply.
"Hi,
If you are speaking of rear spindles on a corvette they press out very very easy and is the only safe way to make the brake kit.
Thank you"
No sry no link I saw a member had a kit and called them up to ask bout a basic kit. They said they could make a bolt on and had made a few for c3 vettes street or drag.

Burning Brakes
What are you trying to accomplish with the brake kit? C3 brakes when the system is working properly and with the right pads are pretty darn good as they are....

I'm trying to run lighter wheels n brakes. Long story short I have a set of draglites and a front brake kit that'll work with draglites.
They said they would exchange or redrill my hats long as I cover shipping.
