There is only so precious few of any Motion cars ever produced, and only about a dozen or so Vettes ever done, the chances of that being a GENUINE Motion car are about nil....not at that price anyway....Joel Rosen charges a fortune for documentation, and you pays your money and takes your chances.....it goes by serial number and he aint releasing that information....not without you paying first...thousands of bux....

there are many knockoffs guys have put together from Magazine pix through the years......

there are some impossible to find parts on those cars....as I recall the gas tank filler cap is some sort of can't be gotten anymore custom piece....
supposedly one of the hardest things to find....

Check with Bammavette, he has not had his documented but its the closest BM on the forum. Another recent post suggested that the flip top fuel filler was an option and merely decorative. BM vettes, Camaro's etc could be had in any stage of tune & modification. Mild to wild. I'd say that since your friend replaced the original motor with a 502, you'll probably be looking at a clone.

Howzit Cappy!
Between you and Maurice, you guys should open up a Corvette museum already. Sheese!

I think John Moss is still the head cheese of Chevy's model development. The guys who hotrod factory platforms to see how far they can take a vehicle performancewise. I think some of their work actually sees production runs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he developed the 90s Impala SS and a bunch of hotrod trucks.

John Moss is GM's resident Hotrodder. He's the guy who builds us those cool cars(572 CUin camaros, big block impalas, etc)

I'd say you probably have a clone, but who cares, its a vette and its a big block!

Check out this link - there are several of the Baldwin cars here. Scroll down to see a blue '69. This car should really jump out at you as being "different". Special hood, headlight treatment - and there are many more differences that I am not aware of. Be careful! As mrvette says, there aren't very many of these around, and they generally bring top dollar. I can't imagine the original engine is gone - see if you can find out the story there... http://www.yenko.net/features/featurecars.htm

The BM vettes are very nice looking. I believe for the price it is probably a clone, but would still be a nice vette. The 502 probably cost at least $10K alone. So the asking price isn't bad. Is it located on the islands?

IT probably is a clone. But a 69 with a new fresh 502 in good shape...would warrant $18K from me (if I had the money of course :D). I'm still in awe of the $13K deal Maurice Struck. In TX you can't even say the phrase BBlock Vette for less than $20K.

He also has a 63 split window sitting in there with a ZZ4 engine in it. Has A/C and all brand new interior.....He'll sell both cars for $40,000.00. That's $25,000.00 for the 63 split window and $15,000.00 for the 69 Roadster Big Block 502....503 HP 587 lbs of torque...with a 6 Speed Richmond.... :seeya Cappy
I'm begging the wife, however I think Maurice is going to jump on this one.... :cry :seeya Cappy

Looks good. Looks even better for $15,000. Looks like its sitting up a little high in the rear though---easily fixed.

I like the stripe too! Ah, If I only had an understanding wife and $15,000. :(

Was anything found on the car to indicate it is a Motion Corvette?

Ok, now that we have pictures we'll talk to you guys again :jester

Well the rear end looks Motion Performance, and the hood goes with it but I don't see anything else that would mean it really is one. Does he have the motor it came with? Motion used to put their own valve covers on which had their emblems. The only way to really tell is to pay Joel Rosin about $1000 to verify the VIN for you. Still, it's a big block chrome bumper car, and if it's real it's worth more I would guess.

joe58,
I have no idea what to look for....only the word of the current owner....This may be a clone for all I know....however that Big Block 502 looks mean with the aluminum heads....also the Richmond 6 speed does add to the appeal. I sure would like to have it....it has both tops hard and soft....I also would like to have the 63 Split Window....He let me have the 63 Split Window for about a month to drive around....It sure drew a lot of attention. I'm sure not going to pay $1000.00 to find out if this is the real McCoy.....Too bad I couldn't get shots outdoors of this car....He was heading for Maui and did not have time to drive her outside for some good pictures.....This is Maurice's exact words "If you're not buying that car....that car is soooo mine"......so I'm sure he will probably buy that puppy :cry :seeya Cappy
