pricing for 82 collectors edition
well, my wife may like to get another vette. We have the C4 now, but when we first looked at vettes (a good 8 years ago) she had fell in love with a 82 collectors. it was 17k at the time, it had only 33k miles but i noticed it needed some cleaning up in the engine and the leather on the door panels was cracked and blistering.
needless to say we bought the 87.
What would a great condition one cost now? and realizing that low mileage doesn't always mean the working innards are in better shape, what would be a good estimate for reasonable miles. the price would reflect being a california car....

Re: pricing for 82 collectors edition (TJKirby82CE)
Most of the ones I consider "very good " condition in my area are around 18-22k. They have held their price very well. It is one of my and my wifes favorites also, along with the 78 Pace. :seeya

The 82 CE is a very nice and beatiful C3. I was looking to buy one from a local guy. It had 110,000 miles. Very nice condition except a 1-2" tear in the driver's seat. Still had original bronze tops with no cracks. He wanted $10K for it. I see that the seat covers, door panels, steering wheel, etc. are more expensive in vendor mags. Probably since the interior is multitoned.
Good luck with the search, and let us know what happens :D

Re: pricing for 82 collectors edition (Alwyn678)
I found my 82 CE on Autonation.com.
I live in Detroit and the car was in Milwaukee. I had no idea that when I got on the plane as to whether his definition of excellent condition was the same as mine....so the only thing I would have lost was my air miles.
I have wanted to own a CE for years and if I had the opportunity to own one, I was going to do it.
This guy had the car for 18 years and it was in great condition. Although he was a "do it yourselfer" some of the repairs he did wasn't to my taste. (like using washers with the screws to hold the door panel on) and after 4 months of tweaking and shop repairs, she's finally ready for a show this weekend.
Good luck on your search for your CE it really is a beautiful car.
However, I knew it had an oil leak and I needed to invest a few thousand dollars to get it the way I liked it (he had a CB radio-not original- in it that I didn't like) I installed a new stereo system with a subwoofer, had the radiator recored, and the AC charged up.
It had 35K miles on it (did a title check on the mileage) and I paid $16,500 for i    [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]
