Default Reroute the return line??

Got the last piece of the puzzle for my powerplant, a Holley Ultra HP fuel pump, 200 gph.

It's setup for a 5/8" inlet. I'm not going to go that crazy, but I was thinking about rerouting the return line to work in tandem with the supply line... since this pump doesn't require a return line. The supply line in conjunction with the return line would be the equivalent of about a 1/2" line, which should be fine.

So, what do I have to do at the tank to setup the return line for suck??? Or better yet help me understand how custom fuel lines/ electric pumps are installed back there.

arent you limited by the size of the pickup in the tank, if it's 3/8" having 2 lines going forward wont gain anything

Procharged and built stroker.

Plan is to extend the return line into the tank, so that it draws fuel aswell. Think I got the info I needed, thanks anyways guys.

enkie,

Common logic on this Forum is that 3/8" line will feed up to about 600 hp. Same line used in big blocks and small blocks, maybe that's all you need. Tell us how much hp you're making.

I could be wrong but judging from the conversation here and over there most are thinking you have the old style tank that everything is welded in.
You should have the newer style tank where everything comes out of the tank including the return line nipple. This should make your mod much easier being that you can put it up on the bench and you don't even have to drop the tank.
Just remove your gas lid,be careful not to gouge the paint around the opening.

Does the fuel return line terminate at the bottom of the tank or somewhere above? It would have to terminate at the bottom in order to draw suction and be used as a feed line.

The return line stops at the top of the tank,he will have to extend to the bottom and "could" put a stock sock over it or not.

I don't think the sending unit assembly will come out thru the body on a 79, will have to drop the tank, but once out any mods are easy.
