Default Stock spring rate information

I have a 1969 Corvette L-71 (427 V-8, 435 hp, 3x2 carbs, 4-speed manual) with manual brakes and manual steering. I would like to install new front coil springs along with a new rear leaf spring. Companies such as Mid America, Performance Suspension Technology and such sell new springs with differing rates. So I can make an informed decision when purchasing ...

1. What is the stock rate for the front coil springs with a L-71?

2. What is the stock rate for the rear leaf spring with a L-71?

3. Was the special performance suspension (RPO F41) standard with big-block cars? If not, what was the F41 front/rear spring rates?

MelWff,

Thanks for the hyperlink.

For those of you who are interested, noted below is the information that I learned:

FRONT SPRINGS

327/350 (no A/C) - Part #3931823 - "HS" - 250 lbs/in
327/350 (with A/C) - Part #3931824 - "HT" - 264 lbs/in
427/454 (no A/C) - Part #3931825 - "HU" - 284 lbs/in
427/454 (with A/C) - Part #3931826 - "HV" - 325 lbs/in
F41 (all) - Part #3832518 - "EA" - 550 lbs/in

REAR SPRINGS

327/350/427/454 (except F41) - Part #3850839 - "EA" - 70 lbs/in (per side)
F41 (all) - Part #3828811 - "EB" - 152 lbs/in (per side)

Front spring selection during production was actually based on weight, but it typically took the addition of air conditioning equipment to cause the selection of the higher spring rate, which is why I listed them as "with" and "without" A/C.
