Tranny swap
What 5 speed transmission will work in place of a Saginaw 4 speed? Case number on the tranny is 3925656. Other than that I have no other details without pulling it out. It is behind a 283.
Now that the 71 roadster is complete , I'm working on a chopped and dropped 70 Chevy C10 stepside with my son. He wants to learn and will be doing most of the work.
Thanks

Don't know the specs on the Saginaw.A Richmond 6spd or 5 spd trans is close to the same length as a Muncie. You could compare the Saginaw to a Muncie to get your answer.....

I agree, go with a Richmond. I have one in my '81 and I love it

Yes, It was either an out of balance flywheel or pressure plate. I went to NAPA and bought some stock replacement parts and installed them. The vibration is gone and I have around 300 miles on the setup now. I sent the bad parts back to AP for them to inspect, and hopefully I'll get a refund.
