Do 68-77 T-Tops fit 78-82's??
I got a pair of t-tops off of craigslist from a guy parting out a 79 corvette. They came with the inner pads as well. After getting them home, they do not look like the ones I have on my 79. They look like they fit the 68-77's. Would they fit a 79? With what mods? Thanks

78-82 tops have only one latch. 68-77 tops have two latches.
You can use the earlier tops on a later car if you change the halo panel hardware to the earlier style using the triangle mounting bolt.

What is the halo panel hardware and triangle mounting bolt? Any pics or part numbers of what I would need to fit the early tops to a later car? Is there any hardware I could use from the 79 tops I already have? Sorry for the newbie questions.

Really? One latch? I thought there is one for each top. I may be missing something in my thinking. Explain please.

Check the aftermarket provider on-line catalogues. 78-82 cars use these receivers.
Earlier cars use the tirangle bolts.
Purchase the AIM for any of the earlier years and use the t-top part numbers.
No, other than the shims
68-77 tops have front and rear latches. 78-82 tops have a front latch, but no rear. They use a bullet nose connector at the halo panel and the hardware in the pic above. Electrical connector is for the theft alarm.
Earlier cars use the tirangle bolts.

OK, if I change out the rear plate and use the triangle bolts, how does it hold the rear part of the t top down? Do you still use the rear latch? If so, what does the rear latch attach to? This is becoming a PIA!!!

During my morning run through the golf course, saw a 77 coupe, very nice with glass t-tops that had to be post mid-78. The front tag had a "Sheriff Assocation" license plate but still walked over to take a peek. A very nice 77 that looked sharp with those glass t-tops. he made it work

They pretty much attach the same way the front latch does. The latch assembly front and rear look the same. I can get a pic later on.
