Default swapping a 80 frame to a 68 C3 corvette

My dad has a 68 vette that has been modified, so no number matching. We found a 80 frame in good condition. How difficult swap would this be?

Some may be familiar with my build, It has been a while $inse I worked on it.

Certainly not impossible, but the C3 frame did evolve over time...

FWIW, you can mate an iron hoghead up to the late C3 batwing.

You need to graft the back portion of the 68 frame to the 80 frame. The neatest job I've seen, and there may still be pics on the forum, is where they cut the frame right over the center of the rear wheel hubs. The cut was made from the top down to the side weld line and went back a foot or so and the rest of the frame was cut off. The old-style rear section was welded on and it had plenty of surface for the new weld. I suppose up could also just cut the frame off square and weld a box section inside.

You may have to drill some additional holes in the frame horns for the front bumper mounts also.
