1971 LT-1 questions from inspection report
#21
This is very true- but given the expected heavy point loss for paint (45+40 points) the remainder of the car has to be pretty well perfect. I think the amount of work and money needed to address the issues aside from paint is more than the OP is willing to undertake, if I understand correctly.

The UAW saw to that. Saturdays, yes. Sundays, no. The line also did not run on most of the major national holidays.
There is no number beneath the alternator; wrong side of the engine. The block stamp pad is below the passenger's side head (right side) below the AIR pump.
You need the VIN. To be honest, there is nothing to "share." If the seller doesn't provide the VIN, pass on this car.
...As for the assumption that the motor pad may be a June date, which is what was wrote above, that becomes an issue, inthat below the Alternator date above it is stated the car was assembled in May...
...That is why I was asking if he would share the VIN sequence #...

"Alternator part number 1100950
42 amp
12 v neg
1 L 22 date code
1 = year 1971
L = month November
This is built after the car was built in May."
Without clarification on the car build date and VIN and trim tag date, the discussion might all be moot and then go mute.

My 70 was in similar shape as this LT-1 and I can confirm that it will cost him at least two to three times as much as he thinks to Top Flite.

Sorry for delay everyone, crazy weekend. I have spoken to two of the previous owners who vouch for the correctness of the numbers. I have a call with the inspector tomorrow to hopefully confirm that there is just a typo on the report codes causing some of the confusion and questions.
Thanks all for the responses thus far!

-Damage of a 1/8” diameter size hole on the driver side above the String Ray front fender emblem.(3 piece replacement nose at some point
Am I reading this to mean it has had a front clip installed? If the clip is not manufactured using correct appearing materials and pieces, you are looking at $5k for the parts plus installation.
