a little suspension work done
I changed the leaf spring end links to the ones that adjust 2 inches, and changed the Rear Differential Bushing.
I tightened the leaf spring nuts only to the bottom of the bolt and lowered the rear 1 inch.
I would say the old bushings were so worn that the new ones made up the difference and gain was only an inch, but its noticeable.
If you have a clunk and can;t find it change the rear bushing, it only took me about 20 mins. Make sure you put the bolt in the top bushing and then put it all together, it really make a tighter feel when I shift now and the clunk is gone.
Two easy projects done.

I just changed my differential bushing and what a difference it makes. No more clunk, much less of a squat when I shift into drive, and all around much safer. It looks like you had more rubber left than I did

They didnt have any on the old ones and the new set didnt come with any????
I just looked on "Full Throttle Corvette" where I got the stuff and they don't show it in the pics either???
I probably can use the old ones from the top if I have to.

Yea next time bring your car over and I'll show ya what i can do to it in 20 mins.
I don't how you can figure that, when mine didn't have the cups on it and the new parts didn't include the cups what would you do, over think it and rebuild the whole rearend?
Here is a pic right off the venders site, do you see 4 cups?
You would think if I needed them they would be there wouldn't ya?
Plus mine didn't have any to start with.

I have several new metal cups and can pop a couple in the mail to you, no charge (PM me if you wish). Your car will be fine until then. My pic above shows my old steel spring with new parts two years ago and I have recently changed over to a VBP composite spring, with new parts again, so a few spares are in my inventory.

Man, that's a pretty out-of-bounds comment.
Tim, nice work on the spring swap - and kudos to the Corvette community for helping a fellow owner get the job squared away.
I would expect even a big fender washer would probably do until the cup arrives - I am a bit worried about the bolt pulling through...?

Paul's photo shows also that the cups were originally peened over after insertion in the trailing end. The same would have been done in the spring end.

Not with the bottom washer in place. Any damage in the short term will be to the rubber cushion rubbing on the spring and not secured on a cup.

Just to add a little humor to this thread here is a pic of where things were a few years ago on my 1974. Anyone notice anything unusual aside from the rotted rubber?
A little worn out....

Im going to leave the cup off the bottom and just see what happens.
I ain't like im not ever going to look under there again anytime soon so I'll catch it if some is about to happen.
It seems to really ride good lower.

With respect, what you can't see can bite you. Do the job right.
