What's it originaly for?
From Lar's Tech Information Bulletin I get a hit on a '69 Vet 300 hp manual transmission. Correct???
Also I have another # 29202 DH 1339. What's it for? No '70' prefix.
Just going through junk in the garage looking for metering rod/jet combos.

7029203 is a Q-Jet for a 1969 350 300-horse manual tranny Vette. The 29202 is the same carb for the same car except for auto trans: The "70" prefix is for Rochester products, so the deletion of the "70" means the carb was built by Carter under license from Rochester.

Thanks Lars.
I have never owned another vet besides my '67. What are the chances one would pick up two carbs from different sources and end up with MT and auto versions of the same thing.

I believe you're right. I've never seen a factory-installed carb on a Vette with the "70" missing, even if it was supplied by Carter. I have, however, seen quite a few Carter Q-Jets (early style) with the round, foil-embossed carb number by the accel pump rod where the carb number did not have the "70" prefix in the embossed number. All the carbs without the "70" prefix that I have seen have been Carter-built carbs, but not all Carter-built carbs have the "70" deleted...
Does this match what you've seen?

G'day
Lars,
What are you doing up so late? Must be after midnight there. Did you get my e-mail the other week? The one about the proposed "Down Under Tuning for Beer Tour". Australia is awaiting your reply.
Regards from Down Under
