Default Header Bar Installation File Now Available

I've uploaded the headlamp header bar installation help file on our web site.

I thought I would start a thread so if anyone had questions. There are s few typo's in there that will be corrected tomorrow but that will be the easy part.

That's a great write up, you make it look a lot easier than I imagined it.

By leaving the old bonding strip in the header it affords you the luxury pf not being so soft with it. Cutting the old bonding strip away from the upper surround panel can be tedious work and often result in cracks in the corners. The upper surround panel is pretty flimsy without the header or bonding strip.

The update will be worked tomorrow.

Ok, I think the file is fixed and ready to fly! In my opinion the only correct way to do this repair is from the bottom and not the top.

Am I reading this wright and the rivits dont go through the fiberglass?
What is it that the rivits attach to and if the rivits dont go through the fiberglass and by clmping down the dimples can you avoid repainting.
(if everything goes as planned)

Thanks for a great DIY report
George

I believe I answered most of all my questions by re reading and carefully looking at the pictures
several times.
That brings up another question, is the old header glued to the bonding strip an then rivited before
installing at the factory?

On the original design, the bonding strip was riveted to the header and then bonded in place. When we remove the header we leave the original bonding strip on the upper surround panel.. we just remove all traces of the rivet so that there are no issues down the road.
