I just noticed the other half of the transmission was charged to my account so I guess it is shipping now! I need to knock out a little slack so I can be ready to drop this baby in and cruise again ASAP

I'm finally back on the road and so far I'm loving the RS600 over my M20. Here's my 1st drive thread. I'll post some lessons learned in a new thread in the near future.

Ok, I'm in. I just put a deposit down for the Keisler RS 600/perfect-fit Auto to Manual for my 72. I was told 5 to 7 months, so that puts me out to 4/2012, worst case. Can't wait.

Thanks for the comment. I had to wait 7 months and I was one of the first. It didn't bother me since I had so much more to do before the trans showed. After 250 miles, it hasn't skipped a beat. For me, it was worth the wait.

Edit: I also recommend going w/ the hydraulic clutch kit. It'd probably be easier for you since your doing the swap anyway and you won't have to worry about the Z-bar setup. It's so smooooooooooooooooooth!

Good to hear it is still shifting smooth and you're happy with the RS600.

I'm hoping that they somehow catch-up with demand and ship mine out sooner than 5-7 months. I guess I can work on a few other things, but I'm really ready to install the RS600 as soon as It is shipped.

I'm swapping in a new tranny before I do anything else to my mostly stock engine.
Me too,

After thinking about the clutch setup I think I'll go hydraulic also. I'll give Jeff at Keisler a call on Monday and have it added to my order.

Where did you mount hydraulic clutch fluid resevior?

hi new to the forum joined to try and get some idea about other people and the delivery troubles they are having with there Keisler rs600 I ordered mine in march 2011 was told 6-8 weeks then told delivery set for june then sept then dec was suppose to be delivered this week sent an email no reply called today got answering machine left a message got an email reply stated there is an 11 month lead time my tranny would be delivered feb or march 2012. MY suggestion is do not do what i did and order a 10,000 dollar engine and $ 4500.00 fuel injection system until you have your tranny in hand or like me your warranty will be gone before you get to turn the key

Just par for the course for this company. If you have a spare couple of hours, just search the archives for some of the threads on Keisler, both here and other forums. Despite "reinventing" their customer service a number of times, they still are the same. Buyer beware!

The horrible lead times on the RS600 are no secret and if you wish to switch to the TKO600 we can do so at the same price.

The 600 requires a different first gear and countershaft than the 4/500s and these parts do not arrive with any quantity or regularity. This delay was not foreseen on earlier orders.

For those who cannot wait for the RS600, we now have the option of upgrading the synchronizer blocker rings on the TKO for increased rpm capability and lower effort shifts across the range.

Are you a customer of ours with any personal experience? If so, please enlighten me.

I agree there are tons of negative stuff to be found on the forum but, as with anything else, you only hear about the bad stuff. Keisler Engineering has had its speed bumps in the past, now, and I'm sure we'll have more in the future. No company is perfect especially when a new product is brought to market and new ones are in the works.

In the end, customer satisfaction is most important and we do the best we can.

Ordered my RS500 mid-August and was told five to seven months. I am still within that time frame.

I have no experience with build quality or customer service after purchase yet but as far as customer service before/during purchase goes Keisler gets an A+.

After the initial "quote," Keisler had no problem meeting or beating prices of the various other vendors for parts or components required for the auto to manual conversion (even if we weren't comparing apples to apples all the time).

If the craftsmanship and quality are anything like the experience I've had so far, I have no doubt that I will be a happy camper come spring time!

MeanGrean:

Due to employment issues I had to cancel my RS600 order yesterday. So that means you're one RS600 closer to order fulfillment.
I ordered mine on 9/19/2011 with a tentative delivery date of 4/19/2012, if that helps.

I also have too agree with Slotehog on the before delivery customer service, Keisler gets an A+.
Good Luck!

The customer service from Keisler when buying my rs400 was sufficent. Nothing extrodinary, nothing detrimental. Despite their many logistical woes they are rather keen on keeping the customer informed of the status of the various parts and shipments.

My only issue with Keisler is... I just wish I didn't have to have the "Fordstyle" clutch... I just hate associating the name ford with anything near my property, especially in my garage and vette.

Overall I am satisfied. I also appreciate the honesty from the salesman on what transmission he advise I get for my use/hp. I have a built 383 pushing 470hp at the crank so I was going to go with the rs500 or possibly 600 and he assured me that as long as its not a drag car (I'll probably hit the strip 2-3 times total, I'm going more for autox) the RS400 would be just fine. I thought this to be a little off, but he reassured me that the testing includes spikes well above the rated 400hp/tq.

The RS400 retains the Ford style 1-1/16"x10 spline input shaft while the 5/600s use the 1-1/8"x26 (fine) spline input shaft.

TKO500= $3099
TKO600= $3199

All TKO kits include a 36 month warranty with a 24 month activation window.

Add roughly $1450 for an automatic equipped car and these prices do not include shipping. All kits priced over $3k are discounted $200 through December 30th.

Put me down for disappointed, so far. On July 28th, I put down my deposit ($1500) for an RS-600. I was told to expect delivery just after Christmas. Two weeks ago, I called Keisler for an update on progress; make sure we're still on schedule, and was told "due to parts and suppliers, there would be a big delay; expect delivery around May of 2012".

July to May? 9-10 months? Had I of known this up front, I would have gone in another direction.

I'm convinced the RS-600 is perfect for my needs, but clearly Keisler either misled me (unlikely) or grossly underestimated it's ability to deliver (likely).

So, disappointingly, I wait.

Jeff--

What is the current wait time for, each, the RS400, 500, and 600?

Thanks..

Sam
