How much hood clearance do you gain with an LT1 hood over a stock 1972 hood? I have searched the forum but haven't come up with an answer.

I guess is an inch or two at the most. LT-1/BB hood are one in the same. May get more with an L-88 hood. Someone will come up with the answer.

I believe it's only 3/4" more with the LT-1/BB hood. I can compare mine to my brothers SB hood some time tomorrow if no one verifies this first.

Thank God you're not in a hurry, right.

I just put a straight edge across the bottom of my LT-1/BB hood at roughly the center of the hood and it measures 3-1/8".

If you have a small block hood you can measure yours in the same manner to find how much difference there is.

If I don't see an update I'll get to my brothers as soon as possible to measure his.
