Default all pictures of 700r4 install

700r4 install…..this is it in pictures, lots of guys are asking about this and there is lots of info out there on doing this so this is just the picture version.....i have 350 hp, 425 ft lbs 355, with a 3.06 rear end and 2500 stall converter...true 2.5 duals no cats and an H pipe, the H pipe provide more low end torque when yu are in lock up at 1100 rpm....i am sure an x pipe would do the same....i also have a manual lockup switch that will unlock the converter mounted in the extra hole next to the headlight override switch

I sourced everything mostly from BTO. let me get all photos in then i will add narrative if you see a red X just right click on it and "open picture" all the links are good

Total package

Replacing solenoids in trans

Drilling out shift detent

these detents are accidentally flipped backwards in the photo

Cross member

Shortened drive shaft

Trans with pressure testing gauge on it

Clearance is tight on a 77

Wiring up brake switch and lock up

Cable bracketry the TH350 does not line up with the holes....so i made one then realized the shiftworks kit came with one

Crap I hate when that happens

Shift lens

pictures of TV linkage on Carb

(need to dig for these)

Thanks bob, this is a big help. Unknowingly, you just became a resource for me to nag the hell out of with more questions later on this summer...

AMAZING ...the cable-kit-gauge,etc. was double the cost of the actual transmission. Sometimes you just can't catch a break...
I'll be in touch later this summer for tech help, I'm sure. thanx.

i went with the engineered kits because at that momenmt i had the money but not the time.....if you had the time you could have created everything except for the TV bracket and cam which was about $110

thanks for the price list. I have found a good deal on a 2004R but I'm kinda skeptical about buying a used tranny that is out of the car. I want to go the 200 route because I now have a TH400 so it should bolt right in.

Smart move, a 700 build that is done even close to right is about a grand in parts alone....

they have many internal faults/weak spots that will NOT be good for any high performance use....

the sun shell, is one for a couple hundred right there,

I built one what I hope if grenade proof....for a 8000 gvw motor home, class C.....
