Default My exhaust heat shields

I decided to try and shield the floor of the car from the radiant heat from the exhaust pipes. I didn't want to drill holes in the floor so I tried a different aproach. I made the shields with brackets that I could clamp to the pipes with hose clamps. Really easy to make and installed in about ten minutes.

Those look really nice and I bet they will work great. My 80' had something similar on the original Y pipe but it was tack welded.

Nice job,
Stephen

Those look similar to OEM heat shield on some cars; excellent work. They should help greatly with heat reduction.

Best heat reduction improvement I made was to install the Thermo Tec self adhesive product under/behind my two lower factory front heat shields. Cut it to fit after making a pattern. Also installed the product under the two floor pans.

Put some insulation material between the pipe and those covers and they will do great. If no other product like that is on the market, you should patent them and sell them to the aftermarket suppliers.
