don't mean to steal the thread but what is the thinnest head gasket you can get for a 400 sbc

For the thinnest, I'd go with the FelPro 1094 which is good for cast iron or aluminum heads. BUT, before you jump for this .015" thick gasket, check you quench height (deck clearance plus gasket thickness) first to ensure that there is a minimum of .035"! YMMV

I don't know I would have to look it up again. I had iron Sportsman II heads at the time
