I put a ZZ4 turn key into my '82. No problems. Used a drop base air cleaner. But the '82 hood is different, it has an air passage in it from the front to over the top of the carb, had to do a little cutting at the opening, no big deal. I love the car with the ZZ4, really gets up and goes now!

It also ran flawlessly on long distance runs including cross country and a few L.A. to Vegas trips. I'm glad the ZZ4 was in the car when I bought it...really good motor IMO

perhaps:
HT383 p/n 12499101 .... high 435 torque, iron vortec heads, Roller Cam, 87 octane

torque is what most street-only drivers need ... about $200 more than ZZ4
