I was noticing that 3 of my spark plugs would foul a little, so I pulled the pistons out of the bores to see what was going on. Do these pistons look like they can be fixed? I was thinking maybe bonding some aluminum sheet metal onto the skirts and buying some special rings of some kind to make them seal again. Should I oil the piston pins with anything special before I put them back in? What type of rings do I need with these pistons after I fix them? I’m thinking a good bead blast will clean them up, but what do I do about the ring grooves…? Will JBWeld work? The third one shown doesn't have a top ring anymore. Will it work as a single-ring piston?

After I fix them, I was thinking I should cut down on the 300-horse shot of nitrous, 32 pounds of boost and back off the timing a little. Any other suggestions? If all else fails, I'll put them on eBay as original Corvette pistons - watch for the ad.

I didn't show a forth piston, because there wasn't anything left to take a picture of. Since the piston wasn't there, the plug wasn't fouling, so it must be good. I'll just leave that bore without a piston, 'cause that seemed to work pretty good.

You could try Zaino....well perhaps not. What engine problem led to that catastrophic failure?

I'm thinkin some kind of cold weld epoxy & then use only snake oil... should be just fine!

I would try some of the low temp potmetal filler rod to get the shape back then file them smooth. Use a hacksaw blade to cut new ring grooves and your good to go!

You may need some 30 weight oil and some ball bearings! And get some antifreeze. preferably Prestone,...........no make that Quaker State.

JB Weld and silicone sealant can do wonders on about anything. Cuzin Bubba swears by 'em.

Put them back in the block, wet the whole thing down with a hose and stick the whole mess in the dryer... they'll "shrink fit" themselves and be good as new!
