can i turn my trans upside down?
i bought a 700 r4 and i have to drop the pan to check out the wiring is it ok to turn it upside down or to but it on an engine stand??

Sure no problem...just be prepared for the extra fluid to run out.

Melting Slicks
If it's a used trans, pull the pan off first because dirty fluid, muck, and debris can collect in the pan and you'd not want that going back into the trans when you turn it over.

You can also hang it from the front-
This is a TH400 on the bench with GM's bench bracket, but no reason you can't use a couple of the bellhousing bolt holes and a chain. On end, it drains everything real well. The bench tool works on all of GM's RWD automatics.

You should have no problem at all, as all the cars here have the transmissions upside down. In fact, the whole car runs upside down in this part of the world

And on the wrong side of the road. Everything backwards. Reverse is forward probably. Park is low gear. Drive is reverse. Headlights are red. Tail lights are white.
