Default Need help on hose location 74 Corvette

Problem: Hose is going to nowhere?

Car: 1974 Corvette - 350 CI - 4 Speed

Hose is coming from: Under the washer fluid container it has a canister with two hoses. This is one of the hoses.

Help Please: Where does it go?

Thanks

Looks like its coming from your charcoal canister and running up underneath your air cleaner.

My cannister had like a million hoses coming out...........I took it all out!

Driver's side of Q-Jet.

If not connected you will have a significant vacuum leak.

Default Tcs solenoid valve

Paul,

Thanks for the images. Does you car have a TCS solenoid valve?

I have taken more pictures of the carb area.

Do you see anything that is wrong?

Mine has this hose and it comes from the canister and goes to the front of the carb. From what I have read its suppose to burn off the excess fumes.

Paul 74

Based on the hose placement on the carb, your car is an automatic? You have an extra vac port on the upper front side of the carb.

Where did you run the distributor vac hose too?

I still need some help.

Bob, You have a 73 Corvette? That uses the same emmission system as a 74. Do you have a manual trans?

Could you post some images of your engine too?

Sorry not to get back to you sooner. Yes I have an automatic TH400. I do not have have TCS as was required with a four-speed. The distributor vacuum can is hooked up to ported vacuum on the driver's side. Yes, there is an extra port on the upper passenger side. It is not needed. The car runs very well.

MVMA is Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association.

If need be I can label all those hoses for you.

Mine ia 74 automatic. I'm sorry but my car is in the middle of a resto and completely apart. I took some notes and if this hose is coming off the black can under the washer jar there is a short six inch hose that just hangs under the car and is not hooked to anything as i believe it is a vent hose. The other hose as Paul 74 said goes from this can and runs under the air cleaner and plugs into the front right side of the carb. It burns off the fumes. As one of the other postings said it probably runs even without it hooked up. Hope this helps and sorry I cant post pics.

The short hose should be hooked up to a metal line that runs back to the fuel tank. On the drivers side of the tank towards the top is a valve that that hose returns to.

The car will run with out any of that hooked up. My dad took all that off of my 73 when we went autocrossing.
