CIRCA 1986-Take a 'Vette, and disconnect the interior passenger door handle!
I took my vette, just cause it was cool. I tried to get my mom to loan me her '01, but that was no go. Just as well, though, she was just using me :(
On the viper/cobra, I'd go cobra. It just has that classic style. If you want to blow doors of everything everyone else drives, then take the viper. It's all whether you want style or performance, not that the shelby doesn't have perf or the viper style. It's just one has more than the other. My $.02

P.S. I like classic cars - but the Viper is maybe the best looking late model car - and going to the prom you will impress more females with it.

I would take her to a motel! oops! I forgot, that was not a choice....I hate it when my brain gets excited! I er....uh...I'd take the vette of course and park at the far end of the parking lot under a street light. No valet for me......and if she minds me checking on the car every 15 minutes.....she gets to take the cab home!.....

Go classic. The pictures will be that much more interesting 30 years from now of a 'classic' instead of a new at the time car. :D If the vette isn't in the question, then go with the Cobra. Definately classic.

Nothing beats a Cobra for coolness factor no matter the age or setting. Anyone with the right financing can drive a Viper and it's not like you don't see them. When's the last time you (not you, but anyone else) saw a Cobra? There are two Vipers in my neighborhood. Only have seen one Cobra in the last year.

1. Corvette
2. Cobra
3. Viper
If the Corvette isn't in the picture then probably the Cobra (I love old cars).

Young people have this horrible attraction to the Viper. I'd say that if it's the only chance you'd ever get to drive the Cobra, take that. You can always have a shot at a Viper. If you can drive them both, and take one, I'd lean towards the Viper. But remember, you're probably not gonna impress anyone anyway if it's not YOUR car. Take the Corvette.

take neither. Corvette or better yet something roomy :) The last thing you wanna spend the night doing is worrying about the car - where you park, who you have to show off to, etc. Its just not worth it.
