Bonding fiberglass to metal bracket. Which GLUE ?
Need some input....
The center nose tip of my hood is 1/4 lower than the front bumper piece.
Opened the hood and noticed that the bumper piece as unglued from the "header metal bar".
I've cleaned the metal and using several "C" clamp, I want to glue them both back together. This should solve the present gap.
What glue should I be using ?
High temp ?
Contact cement ?
Epoxy ?
Has anyone done this ?
Tks

go to a local body shop supply store and talk to the counter-man. i've used the 3m epoxy (8115 ?) that has the auto mix tip that allows you to force the epoxy into the space betwen the two pieces.

Have to agree the new auto mix tips on some of the new glues really work great for this type of fix.

I have used 3M "Structural Adhesive" to bond the different materials together on the vettes, and it works great. Any automotive supplier should have it.
