Pics of the $1,800 Stingray....
It was dark in his garage, but I snapped a few pics.
He told me he will have stuff moved to the point that a flatbed can slide in and get it out by next week if not sooner. I told im Id give him 400 now, and the rest when I took delivery of the car..so it all works out!
And if anyone can ID these wheels...

It looks like everything is there and in one piece i.e. emblems and such. Includes luggage rack/T-top carrier. If the inside isn't gutted then you have found an excellent deal.

Those are Appliance wheels, same brand as my Slots. My brother had those back in the early 70's on a 240Z.

Looks like you got a great deal! Be ready to spend increased amounts of time here on the forum!
Did the link I gave you on your other post help you at all?
Make sure you take pics of when you get it (the condition that you found her) and then after you clean things up a bit.

Look this car over thoroughly, especially underneath. Based upon the pics, the car will need to be repainted, not to mention things you will have to repair yourself and once you catch the "while I'm at it disease" Should the vehicle is be in salvageable condition $1,800 is a steal. However it the cost to repair damage to the body (if any) and to repaint the car costs more than what you paid for it you might want to look elsewhere. If you are up to the challenge of restoring it then go for it.

He said he barely got to drive it in the 8-9 years he's had it, as he works close to home..and he said the man before him that had it said the same thing as far as not really being able to enjoy it.
Makes me wonder about the odo readings...it says "39,XXX".
The brake pedal looks good, carpet looks greay, no wear on anything on the inside, the glass looks great...I wonder if its 39,XXX or 139,XXX?

it has an old looking "L-48" thing near the shifter...has the comp ratio, power etc...dont know if it is factory, but he says he didnt put it there.

He says he parked it 4-5 years ago to "fix the brakes" which had started to go out according to him. Then he decided to redo the whole car while he was at it...but never put a tool near the car..ever. And I dotn doubt it, the closest thing to a tool I saw in his garage was myself in a mirror.

Ah, good old Wiremag wheels. Had a set of those back in 73. Those tires are about good enough to get it on & off the trailer. Don't try driving with them.

Except for the cheap little cover over the E-brake being busted...the interior looks great, except that the seats have been either recovered in cloth, or they have cloth covers on them...

You have done it now!!! Welcome to the C3 side of Corvette Forum. I think you may have answered a few small engine questions for me a few times in OT when I was hunting for a mower. Now I hope to be able to return the favor a few times over here in the C3 section. Have fun with the new toy and welcome!

Welcome Red..
I joined the forum 4 years ago when I bought my '79. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of any forum until after I had made a dreadfull mistake. After I paid $7000.00 for a rust bucket. I have spent 4 yrs and more money than I care to think about and finialy this year we managed to have a self powered chassis. We still have to remove the body again, bond the front clip, prep and paint, purchase and install a new Interior. But the bright side is we have truly enjoyed it. There is just something about restoring a C3. Kinda like saving a piece of history.
Good luck and we will be watching.
