Phase III Motion Corvette
Has anyone ever heard of one of these? My father inlaw met someone who says that's what is 1969 is, and that there are less than 10 of them in existence. His has the original 427 and has less than 19K miles.
I've never heard of these, can someone shed some light?

Re: Phase III Motion Corvette (ylose)
Thanks for the links everyone. This is consistent with what the guy has said. He even said he took it back to NY to have the paint redone so it would be right. He says he's got all the documentation and certification. Looks like he's got a pretty cool car.

That pile of paperwork is worth more than its weight in gold. Short of getting hold of Joel Rosen and forking over the $1000 he wants to verify Motion Corvettes, the documentation with the car would prove that it's a genuine Motion car. Keep the paperwork in a very safe place.

Way cool indeed
Here's a pic of the only 'real' one I've seen...
...I plan on 'converting' my car to look like this - wish it were a real one. :chevy
As far as 10 of 'em being made ? - maybe, maybe not, Joel Rosen won't say... there might be 11 out there, who knows....but in 1974 the Gov't. passed a mandate that 'ruled' out custom cars being sold through dealerships. That's why Calloway and Lighenfelter (sp ?) are strictly 'aftermarket' only with no 36k mi. warranty sold at your local dealership. :(

BADA BING !!! That car is the "mother lode"..... very desirable collectible. I don't know about them only making 10, but it is a rare and costly car. I used to live a few towns away from where these cars were re-done by Joel Rosen at Baldwin Motion in Baldwin (Long Island). He obtained the stock cars from a nearby Chevrolet dealer, and proceeded to remove the engines and do his magic on the body and mechanical parts. There were often so many Corvettes parked in front of his place, you had to find another place to park your car if you wanted to stop in. This was in the early 70s. I think one of the last years he produced Motion cars was '73 models. :yesnod:

That paint scheme is the same as the white ZL1 car, and I am thinking of doing my white Syingray with the same stripe in black.

Re: Phase III Motion Corvette (edwards)
Go for it Fastguy ! - it'll look great !
...plus, IMO it's easier to tell people you have a Baldwin Motion car than a ZL-1. Ok, it's a replica - but see how long it takes 'em to figure that out
IF I went around 'spouting' off - "Hey guys, check out my ZL-1" they'd just reply - yeah, there's no way 'cause only 2 were made and all you did was paint a stripe on your car ! :p:
Oh one more thing : Baldwin comes from "Baldwin Chevrolet" and Motion ? - Joel Rosen was known as "Mr. Motion" from the drag scene - 1966 Vette - "Ko-Motion" thus Baldwin-Motion was a 'team' effort and all cars 'tweaked' by him were Phase III cars. (sorry no Phase I or Phase II) :chevy
