Warm water with some Tide in its is an awesome cleaner and safe for about any type of metal. Meaning if you got a lot of brake dust, etc.
Does an awesome job on garage floors too concrete nice and brite.
Alum. never really corrodes much out here so a simple wipe down with a very soft towel maybe some windex does the trick. Some cleaners have abrasives in them so be careful if you have very nice alum. wheels same with what youre wiping it down with can leave fine scratches.

that's a horrible suggestion, sorry! Wheel acid is for chrome and painted wheels only! It will immediately oxidize the polished surface leaving the wheels look dull and will require a TON of work to bring them back

Take a spray bottle, some dish soap, some engine degreaser like purple power and a little wheel brush of some sort. In a 32oz spray bottle add about 4oz of dish soap, 4 oz of degreaser and about 20 oz of the hottest water that will come out of your sink faucet. Add the water slowly so it doesn't foam up like crazy. Shake the bottle to mix everything. Make sure the wheels are cool and not in the sun. Spray them all down and don't be shy with it. Make sure you really get the mix sprayed all over the wheels. Then take the brush and hit in between the spokes and any nooks and crannies. Then just spray off with a hose with a high pressure nozzle. Works great and it really cheap. You can get the dish soap and degreaser from the dollar store so it cost 2 bucks per bottle and can make prob 5 bottles with that.
