Default No oil to even bank

Ive built a 533 using a new bare 502 block. Its ready to fire or so I hoped.

I primed the oil system and had oil quickly flowing through every pushrod on the odd number side but cant get a drop on the even side. I turned the motor numerous times but it made no difference.

Any ideas?

Not a big enough drill to create enough pressure for reaching both heads???

What are you using for a priming tool. If it is not the correct tool or a tool used with a dist. base you will not get pressure to the one side. All the oil will just get pushed through where the lower part of the dist is.

Default Priming tool

Im just using an old screwdriver with a ring to retain it as a priming tool. I can see oil pouring out around it. Having read the following archived post from TimAT it might be the tool.

What are you using to prime it with? The correct tool, an old distributor or a bare shaft? A bare shaft won't feed oil to the right bank because the galley is open. Sometimes, even the priming tool won't seal well enough to get there. If you're showing oil pressure when you're priming, and you've turned the engine over with pressure applied, then all the important stuff has oil.

I alway use an old distributer without the gear installed. 1/2" drill, never had a problem. Al

Here is the tool I have in my box. This works great.

I have also used an old dist housing and that will work also.
