Default starter problems

i have a 76 corvette that i put a 168 flywheel and 11 inch clutch in. im having trouble finding a starter that fits in my bellhousing. i bought one for a manual and the snout on the starter is too big to gointo the bellhousing, and of course the automatic is no different. i dont want to use a mini torque starter i want to use a gm starter. maybe a big block one is diff. i dont know please help

thanks the snout of the starter does look smaller. would you mind measuring it for me. im talking about the part that goes into the bellhousing. up and down and left and right. it would be a big help if its not already installed in your car
