door lock problems need advice (picture)
i am rebuilding both the doors on my 1980 with power door locks and im running into trouble getting the right door locks for my car.
the supplyer just sent me a new set of locks today but they are the same as the first set they sent me.
i dont understand what is going on with this let me stress this (i am not mad or upset with the supplyer at all).
this is just something im trying to figure out and they are to.
look at this picture of my new door lock and old door lock side by side.
im sure these are wrong my brackets will not fit because the center shafts are to long on the new locks.
look at the picture and please give me some feed back on this problem
thankyou for your advice

Safety Car
Don't know who you ordered from but Corvette Central has what your looking for.
Part #503041 $49.95 for pair
Also check out Wilcox
Looks like you can remove braket on old lock and slide it on new lock and use a retaining clip to hold it.

The 1980 cars used door alarm switches under the lock pawl. You an tell by the looseness of the lock pawl on the picture above.
This was the same from 1980-1982. 1978-1979 cars had only one door alarm switch so the drivers side was a long shank lock and the passenger side was a short one.
If you have a car and the door alarm activation switch is removed, you have to use washers between the lock pawl and the case.
