I buy A-1 Cardone remans all the time for my shops but they dont have a tach drive available. The cheap ebay one is now down to $69.00, Damn I think just the price would make me nervous every time I started the car.. I think every thing I have had to buy to put this Vette back together has been "special" so far. I hope when I ever get to drive it the first time that its worth it all.

I tried two cheapies summit and ebay and had oil pressure bounce about 10 psi variations with chaepies now I have rebuilt OEM Delco no more problems. The gears mesh tighter with oem and the oil pump tang is thicker. No a biggie but annoying.

Check out the one made by Gearhead Enterprises, it has the tach drive and vacuum advance and looks very well made. They use a standard distributor and machine it to accept the tach drive . Just bought one for $89.00 on ebay . Will make a report when I install it in the spring. They could have put a $295. price tag on this distributor and most people would think it is better. Not always the case, so I'm willing to give it a try.

We quit selling the ProComp brand when they switched to China 4 years ago. Currently the we buy they from the same factory that makes them for Accel and Mallory. All our HEI have a 7 year warranty.

FYI: I am the one that send my Vertex to Australia to have the mechanical tach drive copied back in 2002.

i ended up getting the hotrodusa hei. works good with no problems. since my motor has weak vacumm i had to remove the adj. vacumm advance and ordered one with the correct vacumm canister. now my new streetfire multi spark box was a different story. bad out of the box. but msd took care of me and fixed it even thro it was a month out of warranty and i did not have a reciept. there is a build date on the boxes so they could determine the build date for me. msd is a nice company that takes care of it's customers. hotrodusa seems to be a good company to. the timing curve on the hei was nice also.

I have one and have not had any problems with it. I have read in the jeep forum that the gear is to hard and was taking out the cam gear. I now have to pull mine and at least look but have a 1000 miles on mine so dont expect to see anything. The other thing I didnt like was had to switch back to dino oil for break in 500 miles is what directions say. Other then that works good and looks good.
