Default Ordering wheels just want to make sure the fit.

I found some Boyd Sultan 17X11 on line for a decent price. As long as I get 4 inche back spacing 5 lug and 4 3/4 should be good right? I have not decidied to go with 17X11 all the way around or just do 17X11 in the back and 17X9.5 in the front. I do have fender flares all the way around and I know a 11 inch wheel will not fully fill the flares but a 12 incher is way to much money for me.

Go with 17x9.5 up front with 275/40-17 tires. It will fit inside the wheel wells. Edit: I see you have flares. Pictures?

It's a work in progress. the flares in still in the box. I want to get the wheels first before mounting the flares. The front end I got is something I've never seen. It's kinda like the ecklers one piece tilt but no headlights. I just now got the body mounted to the frame and the engine running good. I'll get some pictures of the project when the car is off jack stands. I may take a beating on the forum because of want I have done to the car.
Thanks for the post.

If you go with 275/40s on the front with 17x9.5" wheels and a 4" backspace you should be fine. In the rear 17x11 with 4" backspace and a 315/35 will work. If you remember from earlier discussions for best results you need to "fit" the flare to the tire.

Well for reference, I believe I have a 4.5" backspace and a 1/8" spacer in front with 17x9s and 275-40-17s on em with my '81 and there doesn't appear to be any rubbing issues.

No, not necessarily. You need to be sure the wheels have adequate clearance in the spokes for the brake calipers.

FWIW I have a set of 17x11's all the way around with 4.5" BS front and 3.875" BS rear. Different wheels though than the ones you're looking at.

How will i know if the spokes clear the calipers? I'm not sure if I really understand backspaceing. I know ( think I know) that 0 is the wheel hub is centered. 4 inch is the hub is moved out 4 inches.

I like the looks of your car. that's the look I'm trying to get.
Thanks for the help.

Also, do I need to worry about the offset?
