I just did a 496 with a 8-71 in my 76.
I got the radiator from De Witt.
bought dual electric fan that were suposed to be pullers but because of room had the wires changed to pushers.
One starts when the engine starts and the other one kicks in at 185 degrees.

I would call De Witts and see which radiator will fit your car since it is noa the same year.
I did use the radiator support for a 1974 vette with a BBC since that was the last year they had the BBC and it is almost the same as the 76

not to say that de witt or be cool wont get the job done but the radiator that you already own will blow off heat considerably more than whomever's radiator you squeeze in the front. my suggestion is to mount the thing under the gas tank with the fans blowing down. i mounted a huge oil cooler with fan there with only an inch of clearance from the 1" of thermal insulation under the tank. never had hot gas problems at all. my motivation was to have truly cold air in 100 degree ambiant miami and i was successful. not to mention considerably more volume of coolant in the hoses.
