I installed the Shark Bite in my 1970 coupe with 383 and 5-speed. I broke it at the drag strip in Bowling Green. The brackets that mount to the trailing arms were poorly welded and so were the replacements. I have since had them welded to the TA's and will reassemble this weekend.
With this short experience, I cannot say it is worth the conversion. Looks great and height adjustment is nice. Jury is still out.

I looked at the installation instructions and was'nt sure how well the trailing arm brackets would hold up.
I'm only considering the conversion at the moment and still hoping to hear from more people that have done it.

Rob, you neglected to mention that those were substandard welds per our requirements as well and that we did what was needed to correct your problem. Also, welding them to your trailing arms was a requirement because you have offset T/A's.

I neglected to mention a lot. Sorry, I have been busy.
I started with stock t/a's but after bracket failure the t/a bushings were shot. I decided to upgrade to offsets which did require welding of the sharkbite brackets. Driver's side is in, will finish the other Monday and get new alignment. I could provide some pics if anyone is interested. Rob

Did they send you a free tow certificate with the new parts. Ok that was out of line. Just kidding SpeedDirect, I'm sure the kit is now to your expectations.
