Default What's a set of '82 original tires worth - never used.

Don't hang out here much but looking at a '82 Collector that includes the original tires that were taken off the car when new. Haven't seen them yet but told they have been stored properly. I know all about old tires not being great for driving but might be handy for NCRS types.
Any opinions?
Thanks

Are you going to buy the car and separate it from the original tires?

For the right buyer, maybe $750-1000. Date code would be important.

Why? They are unsafe to drive on.

Yes, about seven years is the maximum expected shelf life for tires. It would not me much fun to find this out at 70 mph.

"for display purposes only"
I think at this point we can all agree they are not safe to drive on but for the right car they could be "correct".

Yeah you can put them in the trunk and put them on at a show, I wouldn't roll down the driveway on ~30 year old tires

Possibly. The car is nice but at around 21,000 miles it's not quite like my 3000 mile Z as far as originality goes.

Thanks for opinions so far. You don't have to beat a dead horse around safety of the tires. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a market out there for these as original tires.

I think it is referred to as the boot in France, not sure about that though, one thing I do know is there is no chance anyone is going to get 4 30 year old tires into there Vette for any reason
