First Drags with the new 4 link rear
Finally got to take my car to the track to see how the new rear suspension would hook up. Today was a blazing day in the high 90's and 57% humidity. Lot's of sweating! The density altitude was 2650ft with the track at only 300ft. I grabbed a toolbox and took off. I had to stop at the local Shell to get some gas. Yes, this is a street car. I drove it about 20 miles to the track, lowered the rear tire pressure, lowered the setting on the rear shocks and hit the lanes. I cracked off a 1.48 60ft with a 6.65 1/8th mile time. (I couldn't get to the Memphis 1/4 mile track this weekend). Definitely need some more rear gear, since I only have a 3.50 now. I was going through the traps at the end of 2nd gear.
I was very happy with it all night. After the races, I hopped in and drove it back home. Very fun. I can't wait to get the our 1/4 mile track, It should run in the mid to low 10's pretty easy. Next comes the N2O

Very nice, that Vette is way cool
The only thing I don't like is the hood scoop, even though it's functional it reminds of those fake injector hats and I don't like the way it angles up. Sorry to be so blunt, everything else is perfect, even the paint

Looks good coming off the line. Hard to tell but looks like the front is coming up level. How did it handle on the street? I have been following your build and am considering doing the conversion.

No problem Motorhead, everyone likes what they like. That's what makes this hobby cool is to do it your way. I just always like the "old school" look of that air cleaner.
Vettamous have to add you to my list of local guys!
Skunkworks, it was down at Byhalia, MS. Old school track, no Tech or nothing.
HGM, it lauches very level. I'm not a corner carver at all, but for normal driving in town and on highways, I can't tell the difference.

Also wanted to add for the heck of it, this is with our FAST EZefi (gotta plug my baby). Still no tuning. Just put it on, set my specs in the handheld and that's it. Shoot, the timing is still where it was for the motor break in and I had the wide open throttle air fuel ratio set at 13:1. There's more power easily.

Very nice Ron! I too like the paint; I have never seen a vette with that color/flame scheme. The air cleaner is also growing on me because I know the cool efi/tunnel ram is below it.

I always liked the colors, too. I painted it back in the mid 90's. The white is the stock white and the blue is from the old Mustang's stripes, grabber blue.

Nice!
Ron, car really looking good. Motor looks fantastic! Coming together well.
...Ohhh, and I love that scoop, hard to get much cold air under the bonnet on a vette. Specially with that induction setup... wish I had one!

Dave, you don't need one your car is fast enough already!
Thanks for the comments. Next thing is to install a 6 point roll bar so I can race at our more modern tracks. I might try to sneak a test n tune in though and see what happens...

I will be having fun, for sure! I'm going to go hit Memphis Motorsports Park for some of the Street Legal Drags that they have regularly. I need to do some test and tunes, too so I can actually maximize this thing.
