Default Magnaflow

Anyone have the magnaflow exhaust system from mid america? How about a pypes system? I am looking for a good loud complete exhaust system (bolt in)for my 72 stock 454/400. I currently have stock beat up exhaust with headers and glass packs. Not too loud but i don't like the poping coming to a stop.

If it's popping when you let off the gas it will still pop with new mufflers, the popping is a tuning problem. That said Magnaflow sound the best to me, I have had many different mufflers on mine and I like the Magnaflows hands down

I just installed 2.5 inch pipes with magnaflow mufflers on my BB 1969. Sounds real nice, low rumble at idle. It opens up nice when you get on it. But the nice thing is you can hear yourself think when driving. I bought them from corvette central

Have the Magnaflows on my BB. Great sound. Will sound better with age. I only have put about 500 miles on car in last yr. But a few other vette owners i see yrly at a local show, thought i put new mufflers on car since last yr.

Is the poping due to runing too rich, I have chambered and when I let off it pops back like crazy? Sometimes backfires after I turn it off. Scares the crap out of people.

Yes it installed fairly easy & The tips were easy. The only thing that was some what hard was the line up of the muffler so they would not hang to low. But with some tinkering it worked out great. Sounds real nice.

I installed the 2.5" mandrel bent Magnaflow system a couple weeks ago. So far it's a little quiet at idle, but WOT is excellent. I have already noticed a slight increase in sound since it was first put on, so I expect the idle sound to get where I want it eventually.

Install was decent. Exhaust shop had to heat the pipes post x-crossover and change the mounting studs on the mufflers as it wouldn't line up just right. But again, looks and sounds great. I wouldn't go for any other system!

This is a video of my 350/300 1970 vette. It is a 2.5 inch magnaflow system. I know it is not a big block, but you get the idea.

You know I honestly forget now, been many years since mine did it. I think it is rich though, usually can be fixed with the idle mixture screws
