Do I need a higher performance clutch?
About a month ago I bought a standard clutch from Fort Wayne clutch. Now that I bought it :o I want to make sure that it is adequate for my situation. My car is not a torque monster. Just a fresh 383 cammed for good low end pull. I have a M21 with 3.7 Posi rear end. Tires are std. BFG 255 60 R15's.
Actually maybe I need to start a thread on how to reliably get the most rear wheel performance out of my very expensive, like 5K, 383 build of which I endured great pain in choosing every component. Because I used all the original components, block, heads, intake, my HP is only just under 400, estimated at 380 actually.
I also have Stans Tri-Y headers.
Original rear end too. Looks good so I didn't rebuild it.
Heavy duty half shafts.
New trailing arms and rebuilt assemblies by Vans
Vette Brakes and Products suspension kit. If I remember right I think it is the touring one. Glass spring and Bilsteens.
New brakes system. SS lines and SS lined cylinders with o-rings.
So I guess this evolved into 2 threads rolled into one here.
