Default Speedo Cable,..One or Two Piece? (1973)

I own two 73's, both with original Muncie 4-speeds, and both have what appears to be the original speedo cables. But one is a two piece cable (connected via male/female fittings) and the other is a one piece cable.

Neither car has cruise control.

What's going on here? Which configuration does your 73 have?

Mine had the two piece. When I ordered the new cables the one was long enough I could use it as a one piece. Not sure why it maters unless Your looking for NCRS judging.

Thanks Mike. Perhaps the two-piece set up on one of the cars was a replacement or repair or who knows.

I think the 73 auto cable was originally a 2 pc. cable, 4 spd were one pc.
PO might have just switch one with what he got.
