1982 Convertible Conversion Question
Hi,
I am interested in transforming my 1982 Corvette into a convertible, but I have not had any luck finding any one who does it, or any good guides on how to do it. Anyone every try this? I am trying to find an estimate so I can add it to the modification budget. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl

There is a thread going right now with a couple of members doing a 75-75.

If you do it, here is what you can expect to see.
Last weekend, I repositioned the hinges and brackets so that the lid fits properly.
The rear deck and lid from vanacor costs about $800
Hinges from a vert vette cost me $100
I am not running a top as of this moment; nor do I have any side windows. True roadster. All the hardware, top frame, top, correct side glass etc. etc. will add up quickly. I would estimate another $2000 should get you in pretty good shape. It all depends on how complete you want the car to be.
