Removing and Reusing Weatherstrip after new paint
I would like to get my '72 painted in about 4-5 years, but it needs new weatherstrip now.
Would I be able to put the new weatherstripping on now, then somehow remove it without damage when it comes time for paint?

If your car needs the new weather strip now you don't really have a choice.
My bet is that with some luck you'll be able to get them off. It should still be soft and flexible after that length of time. You'll need to be patient and carefull.

Alan

If you put it on with the right stuff (3M Black, very good stuff) it will be very hard to get off without dammage. But, it you put them on for now with RTV Black (Ok stuff but not to be concidered permanant)they should come off no problem.
