Oil Pressure Hookup on motor side?

Oil Pressure Hookup on motor side?
I recently dropped in a different motor for a 1970 C3 and when I went to the store for the Oil pressure sending unit It had a electrical stake connecter on the end showing for that year.
Unfortunaltey I don't have the old motor to compare what was on there. I attach some pics on what I have. The conecter I have on the pic is not an electrical connection it looks like a small oil tube with a fitting in it?
Car unfortunatley before I bought had some jerry rigging. I did add a new engine harness and have a lectric limited schematic and I can't even find on the wiring schematics anythig that references the oil pressure sensor color or even the gauge?
I am trying to figure what I have and what I need. Here is some pics on what I have.

Hi John,
On your 70 originally the oil pressure gauge used a tiny plastic line that ran from the rear of the block near the distributor to the rear of the oil gauge in the center cluster. It had a small compression fitting at each end.

Alan
A88... you beat me to it!!!

Oil Pressure gauge
Waht would I ask for for the fitting then that goes to the engine side? Why do the auto parts store keep pulling up the elctric one? I told them the year?

Your pics aren't showing. Your '70 originally came with a mechanical oil pressure gauge which had a small plastic tube to carry oil from the engine to the gauge.
If you choose to continue with a mechanical gauge and aren't interested in originality, I would recommend you replace that plastic tube with a high pressure alternative. I went to a local speed shop and picked up a nitrous hose and some fittings. Overkill but I didn't want a repeat of the plastic tube breaking and spraying 3 quarts of oil under my hood in a very short time. For some people it has broken inside the dash and filled their stereo with motor oil. Makes one heck of a mess.
Someone also sells a stainless braided hose with the fittings just for this application. Maybe Summit? Can't remember but do a search on the forum and you will find some other posts that discuss this subject and that hose.
Some folks have replaced the mechanical gauge with an electric one. There should be posts on the site discussing that as well.

Double check this as I'm working from memory but I think the fitting you need is a coupler with 1/8" male pipe thread for the engine side and the 1/8" compression fitting previously mentioned for the line side.

I also believe that Autozone or Advance Auto sell a sun gauges hose kit with all the fittings and copper line for about $20 and has all the connections you need. I used it on my 80 for a direct reading gauge on engine break in.

DC# has it right. I had a good radio fill with oil. The fittings are sligthly different than the hardware store variety. They will leak. I got a complete install kit from Zip. It's been about 10 years and still no leaks. I also then had to replace the radio.

This is correct. They are standard plumbing fittings - nothing special and there is absolutely no need to pay a premium to the specialty suppliers - go to that section in a good hardware store or even Home Depot. If they leak, the are not on right. You aren't supposed to crank down the compression nut until it won't move - that WILL leak - you just want the line tight - not the nut.

you can buy 1/8" hard stainless line,
put a loop in the line at the motor.
it will never accidently leak.
it will connecct up just like the plastic or copper line.
that's what I used. 69 VETT
on a small block the fitting at the top,
is 1/8"NPT to 1/8" comression fitting.
side fittings are larger size.
