Default Radiator Hoses

I am in the process of putting a new SBC 406 motor in a 70. The intake manifold is Edelbrock performer and stock short water pump. The radiator looks to be stock. I ordered stock radiator hoses and they are not matching what I had.
I assume I need some different hoses but not sure what I need to order.

Different radiators were used in 70 depending on whether the car was a small block, big block, manual or auto trans, high performance etc. A picture or two of your radiator may help determine what you have, and what you need to get.

Default Correct Radiator Hoses

It is a 70 SBC, manual, no AC. The lower neck is curved up and the upper neck is straight. Here some pics that I have. The old upper hose is the braided one and the new one I ordered that is different is the std. black rubber hose.

The radiator that you have in your car is for a Vette w/ automatic transmission. You have the correct hose it appears for the radiator that should be there (SBC/manual/no AC - Aluminum Radiator), but it is not correct for the radiator that you have. The Paragon Online PDF Catalog for C3's has pictures of both hoses on p. 71 (PDF P. 73). You appear to have part # 2229, but you need 2230. Look at the pictures, you will see the difference
